Set on the outskirts of Melbourne, this north facing residence is defined by light and the shifting interplay of sun and shadow across its restrained interiors.
Conceived as a quiet backdrop to the client’s art collection, the scheme embraces a minimal material palette of ochre, grey stone and richly textured surfaces. Warm northern light moves through the spaces, drawing out subtle tonal shifts and giving depth to the pared back architecture.
In the living room, an ochre rug anchors the composition, its saturated tone set against the sculptural silhouette of iconic Cassina Utrecht armchairs. Elsewhere, tactile finishes and carefully considered furnishings create moments of contrast without competing with the art.
The result is an interior of quiet confidence pared back, tactile and deeply connected to the natural light that defines the home.
Our scope encompassed the full interior design renovation, including finishes, custom joinery, furniture, lighting, art placement and furnishings.
